Growing up amidst the boreal landscapes of Canada’s North, Naomi developed a deep appreciation for wide-open spaces and the stories they hold. Her childhood experiences instilled in her a passion for capturing authentic narratives, leading her to pursue a career in filmmaking.

Professional Journey

Naomi has dedicated her career to crafting stories that resonate on a personal level. Her portfolio is diverse, encompassing music videos, commercials, short films, experimental pieces, and both short and long-form documentaries. She has produced and directed content for notable networks, including CBC, Knowledge Network, and Northwestel Community TV.

Some of her notable works include:

“How to Bee” – A feature-length documentary that offers a poignant exploration of Naomi’s relationship with her father as he teaches her beekeeping during the final stages of his life. The film is a heartfelt portrayal of family bonds and the passage of knowledge between generations.

“The Arctics” – A short documentary co-created with her husband, filmed across the circumpolar North. This project reflects Naomi’s commitment to sharing stories from the northern regions and her ability to capture the unique essence of these landscapes.
