Photographer Qajaaq Ellsworth, an esteemed Inuk cinematographer and filmmaker, has left an indelible mark on the world of visual storytelling. Renowned for his work as Director of Photography on high-profile films like “Angry Inuk” and “Aviliaq: Entwined,” both under the direction of Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, Qajaaq’s creative vision has captivated audiences worldwide.

In addition to his directorial credits, Qajaaq has showcased his talents as a photographer through projects like “Nippaq,” a poignant short film about seal hunting crafted for the Stories from Our Land series. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Qajaaq is deeply engaged in community development, serving as Senior Associate with Tides Canada since 2018. In this role, he spearheads programming initiatives across Canada’s four Inuit regions, promoting economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and social equity.
